Q5: Are Ocypus Air coolers compatible with the Intel socket LGA1851 socket (Ultra 200)?
LGA1851 kits will be available for the all series.
Q6: How to wire up the Ocypus digital display air coolers?
The wiring for the Ocypus digital display air coolers is all similar; depending on the specific model, the number of fans may vary. Generally, there are three connectors that need to be plugged in to get your digital display air cooler functioning: the USB 2.0 connector for data, the PWM connector (an included PWM splitter will be necessary for two fan models), and the ARGB sync connector.
Q7: I have a Ocypus air cooler, and I am getting A CPU Fan Error. What can I do to resolve this issue?
There are a few things that you should check if you are getting a CPU Fan error:
• Make sure that the fan connector is plugged securely into the CPU_Fan header.
• Test if the CPU_Fan header is faulty by plugging in another fan, and seeing if the CPU Fan Error is thrown again. If it does get thrown again, it is likely the sensor on the motherboard that is the issue.
• Make sure the fan speed is not too low. Go into the BIOS and increase the fan speed if it is low.
• Use compressed air to clean the dust off the fan and to clear out any other obstructions.
Q8: My Ocypus cooler has a fan that is making a clicking sound at a specific RPM range. Is my fan defective?
Please check to see that there is nothing obstructing the fan blades or the bearing of the fan. Clean all dust particles out of the motor hub with compressed air if possible. We would also recommend that you reseat the fan, as misalignments can be responsible for fan noise.
Q9: What is the working temperature of my CPU?
The working temperatures on modern CPUs can vary, but Intel officially claims the working temperature of their processors is below 100°C. AMD states that the working temperature of their processors is below 95°C.
Q10: What is the composition of the liquid in a heat pipe of a Ocypus cooler?
The composition of the vapor in a heat pipe is basically distilled water droplets.
Q11: I own a Ocypus air cooler and it comes with pre-applied thermal paste. Should I apply more?
The pre-applied thermal paste is the proper amount of thermal paste that should be used for your installation. Adding more paste is not necessary, and can actually introduce other issues involved with using excessive thermal paste. You would just need to replace the thermal paste after every year of usage.
Q12: I am looking for a Ocypus CPU heat sink that can handle a 65W thermal load without a fan.
We would not recommend that any heatsink be used on a CPU without a cooling fan. You would see a sharp rise in temperature that would easily exceed 100℃.
Q13: What is the TDP rating and the compatible sockets for my Ocypus CPU Air cooler?
You can find the TDP and socket compatibility information of our coolers at the specification tab on their respective product pages
Q14: Why is a Ocypus air cooler not cooling a CPU?
There are numerous reasons why an air cooler would fail to cool certain CPUs.
• The first thing to check is that the the cooler's stated TDP can handle the CPU at boost levels; CPU manufacturers state TDP at PL1 (pre boost) levels. TDP may not be the most accurate way of rating cooling capability, but it is the easiest metric to apply.
• A user can also try reseating the cooler on the CPU with fresh thermal paste, while making sure that even pressure is applied during installation.
• Also, check that the fan(s) are plugged into the CPU_Fan header.
• The last piece of advice is to double check that the protective sticker on the cold plate is removed; it is very common for someone to forget to remove the sticker while installing coolers.
Q15: The ends of the heat pipes on my Ocypus air cooler are uneven and aren't uniform. Do I have a defective unit?
This is the result of how the heat pipes are sealed off. Please do not worry, as that is how the ends of the heat pipes are expected to look. There are no performance degrades.
Q16: I have a Ocypus air cooler, and I am wondering in which direction should the fan be mounted?
The fan should be mounted in such a way that the airflow will be blown through the heat sink. There is a small arrow on the frame of the fan that will show you what direction the airflow will be going. Usually, the fan is mounted on the front side of the cooler, facing the front of the case; the airflow in this orientation would be coming from the front of the case, through the heatsink, and exiting to the rear.
Q17: What is the ram clearance and overall height of the Iota A62 series air cooler?
The RAM clearance for the Iota A62 series air cooler is 35mm, and the height comes in at 156mm tall. If you want to clear more room for RAM with higher profiles, you would mount the fan higher up the heatsink to a maximum of 49mm of RAM clearance, but you will have to keep in mind, for every mm higher you mount the fan, the taller the unit's overall height will be. So, make sure that is taken into consideration.
Q18: What addressable RGB or RGB software can be used to control the lighting in Ocypus products?
Most Ocypus products that have addressable RGB (or standard RGB) can be controlled with compatible motherboards. The software that must be used depends on the motherboard, as that is the actual component that will send the addressable RGB (or standard RGB) signal to the LEDs. It is recommended that users look up the exact motherboard model on the manufacturer's website, and download the proper lighting software. Generally speaking, the lighting software will be as follows:
• Asus motherboards will be Aura/Armoury Crate
• MSI motherboards will be Mystic Light/Dragon Center
• Gigabyte motherboards will need Fusion 2.0
• AsRock motherboards will require PolyChrome
• If the motherboard is also compatible with Razer Chroma, it can also be used to control the addressable RGB (or standard RGB) of Ocypus Products.
Q19: What are the differences between Addressable RGB and standard RGB?
There are quite a number of differences between Addressable RGB (ADD-RGB, ARGB) and standard RGB.
• The first thing to note is that they are not the same technology, and are not cross compatible with each other. ADD-RGB has the ability to control each LED individually; this is how ADD-RGB can do multi-color patterns at the same time.
• ADD-RGB utilizes 3 pins and sends signals in a different way (5v, Data, Ground). In contrast, standard RGB can only display a single color at any given time.
• RGB pins are quite different in the way they control the LEDs. The first pin is the 12v line, the remaining 3 pins dictates what level of each color you will see. The pinout order is 12v, Green, Red, and Blue.
Q20: I have an air cooler with single color LEDs; is there a way to turn off the lighting?
Unfortunately, coolers and fans with single-color LEDs share the same power source on the internal PCB; as a result, the LEDs and power for the fan/cooler to spin can not be disabled separately.
Q21: I have a Ocypus cooler that is supposedly LGA1200 compatible, but I do not see it in the manual.
The LGA1200 socket uses the same 75mm x 75mm mounting pattern that is used on the LGA115x sockets. Please follow the mounting instructions for the LGA115x socket for your installation.
Q22: Are Ocypus liquid coolers compatible with the Intel socket LGA115X/1200/1700/1851?
All Ocypus liquid cooler products are compatible with the Intel socket LGA115X/1200/1700/1851.
Q23: How to wire up the Iota L24/36 series liquid cooler?
• Plug the digital display's cable into an open USB 2.0 connector on your motherboard.
• Connect the fans on radiator using a Fan Splitter 1 to 2/3 Converter and plug the 4pin connector into a 4-Pin fan header on your motherboard (CPU_FAN/CPU_OPT).
• Plug the 3-Pin pump connector into a pump header on your motherboard (AIO_PUMP/W_PUMP/CPU_OPT).
• Plug the 5V ARGB sync connector (3-Pin) in pump to the ARGB header (3-Pin) on the motherboard.
Q24: What fans are found on the Iota L24/36 series liquid cooler?
The fans that are found on the Iota L24/36 series liquid cooler are not available in retail form. At this point in time, you can only find them on specific Ocypus cpu coolers.
Q25: What fans come with the Delta L24/36 ARGB V2 series?
The fans that are found on the Delta L24/36 ARGB V2 series liquid cooler are not available in retail form. At this point in time, you can only find them on specific Ocypus cpu coolers.
Q26: How to avoid getting fingerprints on the acrylic transparent shell of the Iota L24/36 series liquid cooler?
It is strongly recommended that you leave the transparent peel that protects your display panel on until you complete your build; this will greatly reduce the chances of getting fingerprints or even scratching the surface during the installation of your new Iota L24/36 series liquid cooler.
Q27: While using a Ocypus liquid cooler, my CPU is overheating. What can I do to fix this issue?
There can be numerous reasons why an AIO would fail to properly cool a CPU that is within the given rated TDP for the cooler. Here are a few things to check:
• Make sure the protective sticker on heat plate is removed.
• Make sure the cooler can handle the CPU's thermal output at load. The stated TDP from a CPU manufacturer is not rated at load, so be aware of that.
• Double-check to see if you have the pump power connector plugged into either the AIO_PUMP/W_PUMP/CPU_OPT headers.
• Make sure the pump is running at full speed.
• Please make sure the heat plate on the pump is making sufficient contact with the CPU heat spreader. Also, make sure to use a proper amount of thermal paste as well.
• Please test the cooler at stock clock speeds. An overclocked CPU will increase in thermal output exponentially once it starts to use more of the CPU's processing power.
• Check that the fans are functioning correctly, and that the airflow is blowing in the proper direction for your installation.
• Try testing the CPU at different loads with different software. Some stress testing software will have a much harder load on the CPU than others.
Q28: The pump on my Ocypus AIO seems to be dead. How can I check to see if it is working?
There are numerous ways to check if the pump is functional. The two most common way is by feeling for vibrations or listening for sounds from the pump. I would check the BIOS and check for an RPM reading for the fan header that you plugged the pump into. There is also numerous monitoring software out there that can be of great use, like CPUID and AIDA64.
Q29: What is the freezing point of the coolant in Ocypus AIOs?
The freezing point of the coolant in Ocypus AIOs is 15℃ below zero.
Q30: What are the tube lengths for Ocypus AIOs?
The tube length for all Ocypus AIOs is 400mm.
Q31: What is the TDP rating for my Ocypus CPU liquid cooler?
Each Ocypus CPU liquid cooler has different specifications, so you need to check the specification tab on their respective product pages.
Q32: My Ocypus AIO has a 3-Pin power connector. My motherboard only has 4-Pin fan headers. What do I do?
You can plug the 3-Pin connector from the pump into any 4-Pin fan header. The last pin will just not be occupied. There will be a small plastic guide on the fan header that makes sure that you slide the 3-Pin connector on the first 3 pins.
Q33: What is the recommended position of the inlets/outlets on the side of the pump of my Sigma PRO series AIO?
For the best performance of the Sigma PRO series AIO, we suggest that the inlets/outlets be located on the downward in INTEL platforms. But on AMD platforms we suggest the inlets/outlets be located on the right side.

Q35: Are the Iota Series PSUs rated Gold or Platinum?
The Iota Series line is rated Gold by 80 Plus.
Q36: How to determine if a Ocypus power supply is defective.
The most common way to test if your PSU is defective (once you have verified the power outlet is getting power, the power cable is good, and the power switch was "ON" were not the issue) is to do the Paper Clip Jump test.
• This involves completely unplugging everything from a modular PSU except for the 24-pin ATX cable
• Short pins 15 and 16 with a paperclip on the 24-pin connector
• Plug the power cable into a power outlet, and switching the power switch on.
• If the fan spins, that is usually a sign that the PSU is likely working.
• If the fan doesn't spin, you more than likely have a defective unit, and might need to request an RMA.
Q37: Does my Ocypus power supply have Active PFC?
All series of PSUs all feature Active PFC.
Are Ocypus power supplies CSA or CUL approved? If they are, where on the unit will it show this certification?
Ocypus PSUs are not CSA or CUL approved. However, our PSUs are CE/CB/EAC/TUV/TUVUS certified. CE is the certification for the European Economic Area, while CB is an international certification. The Delta and Iota series also comes with FCC certification.
Q38: Can I mount my Ocypus power supply in any orientation?
All Ocypus PSUs can be mounted in any orientation. The PSUs can be mounted in the horizontal or vertical positions. Often, the build of your case would dictate what the best orientation is for your setup. The most common orientation is where the fan is facing down and pulling cool air from a vent at the bottom of the case.
Q39: What capacitors are used in Ocypus power supplies?
The type of capacitors depends on the PSU model. Iota series uses 100% Japanese capacitors, while the other models usually utilize capacitors from made in china or made in taiwan
Q40: I have a Ocypus power supply that is not functioning; I would like to repair the unit myself. Can you provide me with the schematic and block diagrams?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with these diagrams as they are considered confidential internal information. We would also not recommend disassembling the unit and repairing it yourself due to possible warranty issues and unexpected risk involving capacitance and ESD. If your unit is covered under the warranty policy, we can assist you with an RMA.
Q41: How to test a Ocypus power supply for unstable power.
Unfortunately, it is quite difficult for most end users to test for unstable power. Generally, a user will experience random shutdowns and failures at higher loads as a symptom of unstable power. The issue with diagnosing the power supply as the problem is that other failing components can cause similar failures. A user could swap out the power supply with another unit to test if the failures continue.
Q42: Can I order shorter cables for my power supply directly from Ocypus?
Unfortunately, all the modular cables for Ocypus power supplies are of a fixed length; we are not able to take customer orders for shorter cables.
Q43: Can I replace the preinstalled fan in my Ocypus power supply?
In consideration of capacitance and ESD (electrostatic discharge), we do not recommend that customers disassemble Ocypus PSUs. There are numerous unexpected risks involved in working with the internal parts of a PSU. There is also differences in starting voltages; so, we would not be able to guarantee that any other fan will be stable and run as intended in our PSUs.
Q44: The cooling fan in my PWM capable Ocypus PSU is running at 100% all the time. How do I control it?
Ocypus PWM capable PSUs are controlled by the intelligent temperature control feature that is built into the PSU. You would not be able to control the fan speed by traditional PWM signals from the motherboard. The fan will only spin at a lower speed when the power load and internal PSU temperatures are lower. Also, make sure the intake for the PSU is clear of any dust or debris and has a clear path for air to enter.
Q45: Which modular cables are compatible with my power supply unit?
Modular cables can differ between PSU models. You would need to get the cables with the connectors and pinouts that correspond to your unit. The only way to be 100% sure that you have functioning cables is to get the cables made for your specific PSU model.
Q46: Why does the digital display on my case not show the same temperature I am seeing in HWInfo64?
The CPU temperature display found on some Ocypus cases displays the CPU Package temperature reading. If HWInfo64 is showing a different reading, please make sure you have the polling period set to 1000 ms under sensor settings.
Q47: The power button on my new case is not operational. How can I troubleshoot the problem?
1. Please make sure the power cord is connected securely to the power supply and the power outlet. Ensure the power supply switch is in the ON position (The on position is in the picture below).
2. Please double check that the pw sw connector is properly seated on power sw pins of the motherboard.
3. Please pull out pw sw connector, and short the pw sw pins on the motherboard by using a screwdriver. If you can not boot up the pc, then there could be an issue with the motherboard or PSU. If it powers up, then there could be an issue with the power button module or pw sw pins on the motherboard.
4.If the power button still do not work, it is recommended that you request an RMA for the offending part.
NOTE: Shorting the wrong pins can damage components. If you are not sure if you have everything plugged into the right places, please get professional assistance.
Q48: How do I remove the front panel of my Ocypus case?
The front panel is secured by expansion clasps and can be removed by pulling the bottom of the front panel cutout slightly away from the case.
Q49: I am having trouble removing the metal side panel on my case. How do I remove it?
1. You need to remove the screws at the rear of the case securing the panels onto the frame of the case.
2. Due to the initial side panel assembly, the panel may have a tight fit and will require extra force to remove it.
Q50: The USB ports of my Ocypus case is not functioning. How would I fix this problem?
1.Please double-check whether the USB connector is correctly connected to the corresponding interface of the motherboard. (USB2.0 and USB3.0 are marked on the motherboard)
2.Please plug the USB device directly into the USB port at the rear I/O of the motherboard, or replace other USB devices to confirm whether the USB device functions normally.
3.Mobile HDDs require a lot more power than other USB devices. Due to the cable overall length (front-end interface cable + mobile hard disk cable). the power at the drive may not be sufficient. It is recommended that HDDs be plugged into a USB port directly on the motherboard's rear I/O panel, or supply the external drive with more power.
4.If the USB ports still do not work, it is recommended that you request an RMA for the offending part.
Q51: The audio and microphone ports are not functioning on my case.
1.Please double-check whether the "HD Audio” is correctly plugged into the corresponding interface of the motherboard. Normally, it is located at the lower-left corner of the motherboard, and different motherboards manufacturers label it with different names.
2.Please double-check whether the mic and earphones are correctly plugged into the front audio port of the case. Do not mix the position up.
3.Please double-check whether the mic and earphones work well. (You may test the mic and earphone via the rear audio port of the motherboard)
4.Please double-check or update the audio driver.
If you tried all the above steps, your issue is still existing. we recommend you replace I/O PCB to fix this problem.
Q52: The reason why the LEDs around the I/O panel ports and buttons stay on after the system is shutdown.
The LEDs in the I/O panels of some Ocypus cases will remain on because they share a power source with the wires attached to the motherboard. Many PSUs will still provide 5v power in standby mode; in these instances, the easiest method to shut off those LEDs is to flip the off the power switch on the PSU itself.
Q53: Do Ocypus cases utilize 3 or 4 ring audio ports?
Ocypus cases feature standard 3.5mm earphone jacks with stereo audio (also known as TRS) and support all 3-ring audio plugs. Due to different manufacturer's 4-ring audio design, some of the 4-ring audio plugs are not compatible with our 3.5mm audio jacks.
Q54: Which Ocypus cases have a removable hard drive cage?
All Series Case hard drive can be moved.
Q55: Are there optional mesh front panels available for solid paneled Ocypus cases?
Unfortunately, our tempered glass/solid front paneled cases do not have mesh options. The cases will come with one or the other type of panel; due to slight variations between models, the front panels are not usually interchangeable.
Q56: Does Ocypus cases come with preinstalled standoffs?
Ocypus cases will come with most of the standoffs preinstalled. There are some situations where some of the standoffs will come in the accessories pack; in those circumstances, the user will need to install the standoffs necessary for their motherboard's form factor.
Q57: Why does tempered glass panels shatter?
Tempered glass can shatter if it incurs stress point damage, large temperature changes, from impact, etc. Things like overtightening/removing panels screws can create stress cracks, and handling it at a later time can shatter the glass. There is also the less common possibility of NiS impurities in the glass. Depending on the situation, there might be coverage for the panel. If the case arrived with the tempered glass panel already broken, please contact the vendor and request an exchange, as that is likely a result of mishandling during logistics.
Q58: How to avoid cross threading when fastening screws/nuts.
In order to avoid cross threading when tightening screws/nuts, it is recommended that the screws/nuts be rotated counterclockwise before screwing them in; by doing this, the installer will align the threading on the screw with the threading in the hole of the bracket/nut/etc.
Q59: How to connect the wiring of the of the Delta F12 ARGB series and Gamma F12 ARGB series fans?
• Plug the 4-Pin PWM connector into a 4-Pin fan header (SYS_FAN/CHAS_FAN) on your motherboard.
• Plug the ARGB sync connector (3-Pin) to the ARGB header (3-Pin) on the motherboard.
Q60: Can the default rainbow effect be changed on the Delta F12 ARGB series/Gamma F12 ARGB series fans ?
The default rainbow pattern can only be changed if you plug in the sync connector from the specialized adapter cable into a compatible ARGB header on the motherboard. Once that is done, the lighting can be controlled via the motherboard's lighting software.
Q61: I have an Ocypus case fan, and I want to know what the air pressure for the fan is.
Each fan has different specifications, so you need to check the specification tab on their respective product pages. The air pressure of a fan is measured in mm/H2O.
Q62: How many independent ARGB LEDs are found in a Gamma F12 UNI ARGB series fan?
8 independent LEDs are found in the center of the fan and 18 independent LEDs are found in the frame of the fan. Total 26 independent LEDs are found in the fan.
Q63: How many independent ARGB LEDs are found in a Delta F12 ARGB series fan?
8 independent LEDs are found in the center of the fan.
Q64: How to troubleshoot fan noises.
Fan noises can be annoying, but not all noises are indicative of a defect. Noises like rattling, rubbing, and grinding are usual indicators of bad bearings. There are a couple of tips that may alleviate the noises from fans:
• Re-seat the fan, do not over tighten the mounting fan screws (this can affect the efficacy of the vibration pads)
• Mount the fan by tightening down the screws in a criss cross pattern (uneven mounting can cause slight tweaks to the frame and promote rubbing)
• Make sure there are no obstructions in the way of moving parts.
If the noises persist, there is a strong possibility that the fan does have defective bearings.
